BUENOS AIRES (FCP) March 23, 2016 – In an address to “Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative Town Hall” President Barack Obama attempted to convince attendees that the “division between left and right, between capitalist and communists or socialists” should be considered a thing “in the past.” The President went on to stress that “especially in the Americas, that’s been a big debate” but that the debate is really just an “interesting intellectual argument[]” and the up and coming generation should simply “”be practical and just choose from what works. You don’t have to worry about whether it really fits into socialist theory or capitalist theory. You should just decide what works,” he added.
Claiming that the “wave of the future” and progress requires abandoning the idea of a conflict between capitalism and communism, the President was responding to a question about nonprofit community organizations and how to attract funding from both the public and private sectors. As an example of his recommended pragmatism the President also referenced Cuba’s supposed progress with socialised education and socialized medicine.
The President’s remarks have also drawn sharp response from several prominent online sources including, The Independent Sentinel; the Gateway Pundit; and Infowars. So far the main stream media seem to have missed the lecture.
